Location on the map: Arrakai is an archipelago of islands off the east coast of the main island. (Rough idea for map of main islands.)
Arrakai also still has some disputed and controversial mainland colonies on the mainland continent too, as well as many disputed islands outside the main archipelago.

National History: Arrakai's history is divided into 8 'Ages' that cover important periods of history for the nation, these are, in order of oldest to newest;
The Forgotten Age: B.C.E
? - 2000 - The Age of Arrakai's history before recorded times, when the Aboriginal Natives were the only people present.
The Dawn Age: B.C.E 2000 - C.E 800 - Begins with the arrival of the Arrakai people to the islands, covers their development until the middle ages.
The First Age: C.E 800 - 1529 - Arrakai's main medieval period of history, a simpler and darker age.
The Age of Chaos: C.E 1529 ~ 1622 - A period of non-stop conflict and war that tore Arrakai apart for a century, and ended with the rise of a central government.
The Age of Peace: C.E 1622 ~ 1851 - The period of stability and prosperity during following the bloodiest period in Arrakai's history, in which much of modern Arrakai was formed..
The Age of Revolution: C.E 1851 ~ 1859 - During which the Imperial Throne was installed and the industrial revolution met Arrakai, a period of intense development and modernisation.
The Age of Imperialism: C.E 1859 ~ 1951 - During which Arrakai, as a modern and industrial nation, flexed its muscles and expanded its territory through blood and iron.
The Modern Age: C.E 1951 ~ Present - Arrakai's current age, begins with the introduction of true modern democracy and will end when great change comes to Arrakai once again.
Diplomatic History:
Tiritia:
During The Age of Revolution Arrakai industrialised and huge amounts of the population urbanised, this when coupled with the lack of available farmland and rapidly increasing population, meant that a serious food shortage could be on the horizon, causing the Emperor to look for fertile lands to feed his populace and to allow it to keep growing; lebensraum. Soon, once Arrakai could field its newly created modern Navy and Army, it looked outwards for conquest of fertile lands.
The nearby people of Tiritia had been traders and neighbours with the Arrak people for centuries were the obvious first target. Possessing almost no navy and having a backwards and unindustrialised army, the Emperor decided it was time for Arrakai to annex Tiritia's island possessions, to allow Arrakai to completely dominate the sea trade in the west. Soon the First Arrak-Tiritian War was declared in September 1887, resulting in an easy victory for Arrak forces. The peace treaty was signed in February next year, resulting in Arrakai annexing all of Tiritia's islands. Despite the popular and easy victory, Arrakai had not solved the lebensraum problem, the islands taken were mostly small to make good food colonies, thus the Arrak High Command set its sights on the Tiritian mainland. In May 1892 the Second Arrak-Tiritian War was declared as the Arrakai forces swept inland, conquering much land and winning many victories, peace was made later that year and Arrakai had successfully annexed the southern coastal regions of Tiritia.
Later, Arrakai again invaded Tiritia in the Third Arrak-Tiritian War in 1899 with the goal to take more land as colonies on the coast. However, in response to the previous hostilities, the Tiritians had modernized and their industrial capacity increased to lessen the technological gap between the two nations, thus Arrakai only succeeded in taking small amounts of land on the continent before their advances were halted. Worse still for the invaders; the Tiritian Navy managed to allude the Imperial High Seas Fleet and land reinforcements and supplies at the island of Navros - by the time Arrak reinforcements arrived to re-take the island, the enemy were too well dug-in to dislodge, despite this the Arrak forces launched many costly assaults, before peace was finally made between Arrakai and Tiritia in July 1901.
The third and final war marked the modern borders and territories between Arrakai and Tiritia. To this day, disputes over Arrakai's still held colonies on the mainland, atrocities committed by both sides during the wars, and the deliberate displacement of the local population of Tiritians from the new Arrak colonies, serves to strain relations between the two nations to this day, despite peace reigning for 114 years. The two nations maintaining strong militaries does not help placate the situation, either.
Santiago:
Jern Kysten:
In 1875 during The Age of Imperialism Arrakai annexed a nearby chain of islands known at the time as the Bushi Isles. Apparently outraged by Arrakai's growing strength and expansionist policies, Jern Kysten - the largest exporter of iron in Albarkhand at the time - declared an embargo on Arrakai. Having little to no iron of its own, Arrakai's economy faltered as the businesses built around the importation of iron, manufacturing of it and exporting of it suffered greatly. Due to this, and the grave insult that a nation such as Jern Kysten, with no involvement in the matter, would act as such, the Arrak High Command plotted a military response.
The Arrak navy organized a battle fleet to strike at Jern Kysten, believing that Jern Kysten would shy away from conflict after such an audacious attack. On the 23rd of October, 1875 the Arrak Navy infamously attacked Jern Kysten's Port City of Havn Eirikr by surprise without a declaration of war. The attack killed many civilians and much of the Iron Industry located there, as planned. However as the Arrak fleet returned, it became clear that Jern Kysten would not abolish the embargo.
Arrakai resolved to commence with more attacks, but the equally powerful navy of Jern Kysten managed to prevent this and for the next nine years, the two nations fought in the north-western seas of Albarkhand known as the Iron Ocean War. After 9 indecisive years of destruction on the high seas, the two nations signed a white peace on the 1st of May 1885 ending the only war between the two nations war and ending the embargo also. The war is remembered mainly for the frowned-upon surprise attack by Arrakai, and is officially recognised as a draw.
General Diplomatic Attitude:
Being as semi-democratic as it is, the Arrakai government is naturally friendly to Democratic nations and the Imperial court are obviously warm to other monarchies. Maintaining a strong military will naturally cause Arrakai to disregard weak nations - though not necessarily dislike or agitate them deliberately - and seek to communicate with other respectfully powerful nations in the region. The Emperor is also determined for Arrakai to be respected - and feared to an extent of course - in diplomacy, and will not shy away from gun-boat diplomacy. However, if treated nicely the Arrak Government will make a genial neighbour to the region.
Current form of Government: Constitutional Monarchy.
Executive branch: The Emperor is the executive head of state, served by a council of appointed experts in the Imperial Cabinet.
Legislative: The National Diet is a unicameral chamber of one hundred publicly elected officials, chosen in proportion to the vote percentage of the political parties in the previous election.
Judicial: The courts inherit their right to administer justice from the Imperial Crown, however in practice they behave independently with some exceptions for the monarchy.
Democratic?: Mostly, legislation is created democratically yet executive decisions are not.
To all of the above - Why?: Since the uniting of Arrakai under the Emperor during The Age of Revolution; Arrakai had an elected body technically, but had in reality been under an absolute monarch. This changed however after the Second World War, Arrakai's conservative leaders; fearing a communist revolution, introduced legislation bringing true democracy into Arrakai in 1952, which thus far has sufficed, despite Arrakai being far less democratic than most other nations today.
Ruling Ideology: Currently a coalition of the Conservative Party & National Party are controlling the National Diet. The executive power is, as ever, nationalist.
State of Human Rights: Good by modern standards, the Arrakai 'Code of Citizen's Rights' allows a society free of the corrupt evils that usually accompany powerful monarchies.
Anything else you want to add?: Butts.
